Drury Athletics will be hosting its 17th annual Drury Athletics Auction on Sunday, Oct. 14 at 5 p.m. in the O’Reilly Family Event Center.

Support Drury Athletics

Ed Beach, assistant athletics director of media relations/marketing for Drury Athletics, explained that the organization is excited to assist with the event and for Drury to once again hold such a beneficial gathering. Proceeds help raise funds for Drury athletes.

“The auction is vital to the athletics department and the university as it serves as a much needed funding source for teams, as well as the department’s operational needs,” said Beach.

Scott Nasby, head baseball coach and auction coordinator, encourages students, faculty and the public to attend this night full of food, company and fun.

“It is a great event. We will have 12 restaurants serving food at 6 p.m. and five beverage providers as well. We will have 1,200 people in attendance, and it is a great way to mingle with the Drury community and support our student athletes on campus,” said Nasby.

Prizes to be won

There will be over 700 items offered as prizes to bid on at the auction, such as Drury apparel, gift cards, golf bags and hotel stays. Trips will also be auctioned off, including a week-long stay at a Florida home, $1,000 to Carson’s Nurseries and a suite at the Kansas City Chiefs game on Oct. 21.

“Drury alumnus and Miami Marlins pitcher Trevor Richards will autograph a jersey at the event that will be auctioned off,” said Beach.

He stated that other prizes include, “a vacation package for two to Big Cedar Lodge near Branson, a 10-day stay at a two-bedroom apartment in Vilamoura, Portugal, and a golf outing for three to Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis.”

Students and Springfield residents can purchase tickets for the event at the O’Reilly Family Event Center box office. Tickets are $20 each or $35 for a pair of two. Tickets will still be on sale the night of the event.
