Kristin Turner, assistant director of alumni relations, is proud to be a part of the planning this event once again. She is excited to see what the turn out will be like this year.

“Last year we celebrated our 20th anniversary, and hope that this is a tradition that continues for many years to come. Breakfast with Santa serves as a bit of a reunion for those families that come back each year to see Santa. We provide a complimentary breakfast and have a few craft stations for kids to make holiday crafts with their loved ones,” said Turner.

The event is for anyone and everyone to attend. No one is ever too old to visit the jolly man in red.

“We welcome anyone who wants to join us (and Santa)! We invite our alumni, staff, faculty, current and past parents, volunteers, and our Midtown community,” said Turner.

An event for a great cause

Breakfast with Santa is a free event. The Drury Ambassadors ask that attendees register beforehand to reserve spots for their family members. Each attendee is expected to bring one canned good item to donate.

“This is a complimentary event, but we do ask that each person bring a canned good. Each year we take those donations to the Central High School food pantry, The Bulldog Pantry,” said Turner.

Madison Hadler, vice president of Drury Ambassadors, is confident that there is a lot to look forward to at this gathering.

“There is breakfast, live music is playing, crafts are held, and Santa comes to take pictures. It takes place to give the alumni a place to reconnect with Drury,” said Hadler.

Christmas cheer throughout the years

Tradition will always be something that’s cherished at Drury University. The Family Breakfast with Santa is a way to show how much the university appreciates past and current students, faculty and supporters.
